ContinuousDescription Needham Public Health in coordination with the Charles River Public Health District seeks a highly qualified individual for the full-time, grant-funded position of Public Health Nurse.
The Charles River Public Health District is comprised of four townsNeedham, Dover, Medfield, and Sherborn.
The Public Health Nurse will provide shared services as needed to these towns and will perform a variety of nursing, policy, and health education functions.
CON #24017Grant-funded position through June 30, 2024, and possibly longer contingent upon funding.
First application review will be on August 23, 2023.
Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate with the Shared Service Manager to provide needed services to all towns.
Conduct communicable disease investigation, surveillance, and case management, including investigating outbreaks and DOT Therapy for TB cases.
Help deliver health screening programs, wellness clinics, and influenza vaccination clinics.
Provide education and information to town residents and staff by writing articles across a broad range of health topics.
Prepare reports, maintain confidential records, and research public health and medical studies as well as evidence-based practices to inform the development of policies.
Supports community/population health needs assessments and data collection.
Identifies vulnerable populations and plans/implements relevant interventions, such as education programs.
Traveling across the different communities is required.
This position requires flexibility and may require some weekend work.
Requirements The following requirements may be substituted by any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job:
Minimum Requirements:
Three or more years of work experience in nursing or public health is required, and ideally experience in both fields.
Part-time and volunteer experience may be considered to fulfill for a portion of the work requirements.
Active and valid Massachusetts licensure as a Registered Nurse, a current and valid certification in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and possession of a valid state-issued driver's license are required Preferred
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in nursing is desired, although a bachelor's degree in a related field such as public health, education, or social work will be considered when combined with licensure as a Registered Nurse and nursing work experience Nursing experience in a community health setting, ambulatory care setting, or with unique populations is not required, but is considered a plus A background in policy and/or community education attained through either significant work experience or through the achievement of a graduate degree in public health, education, or a related field is highly desired As a Town of Needham employee, you are offered a rewarding career-opportunity serving the Needham community, a thriving and growing town of approximately 32,000 residents and a diverse commercial tax base.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
