Fabulous 1940's Heuer chronograph in the so-called "Big Eyes" design - two large registers, one for 30 minutes for the chronograph and one for running seconds. Beautiful patina on the dial, which is signed by retailer "Thoma Co., Meilen" (near Zurich, Switzerland). 36mm stainless steel case, all marked correctly. Movement recently serviced and running smoothly, resetting correctly. It is *probably* a Valjoux 23 with 17 jewels, which would be in keeping with the higher end Heuer chronographs of the time, famous for their reliability in military and aviation applications, and today just a terrific vintage style. New racing style leather strap with quick-release pins complete the look.Compare prices! Some are selling for 5500-8500, they are increasing in popularity and value.I am a private US Seller. Please see my other listings for more items from my private collections. No returns.
